Lifestyle choices are considered key in maintaining good health and resisting illness. It is believed that by adopting a “healthy lifestyle” one can build resilience to certain diseases; however, the exact parameters have not been completely identified and quantified. To facilitate clinical decisions for lifestyle changes and encourage positive and easier engagement of patients, we work to identify and map the lifestyle parameters that are associated with health resilience.

To identify lifestyle parameters directly affecting health, we compare healthy individuals to patients with clinical illnesses and associate distinguishing parameters. Our prediction models integrate longitudinal analysis of electronic health records (EMRs) data paired with documented lifestyle habits. We then quantify the effect lifestyle parameters bear on health resilience toward different diseases and infections.
